AOFC
Associated Oregon Forestry Clubs
Associated Oregon Forestry Clubs (AOFC) is an organization for students preparing for a future in forestry and natural resources related industries. Through AOFC, students are involved in leadership and skill development activities in their school, community, and throughout the state. Participation in AOFC helps develop a sense of responsibility, and provides opportunities to work cooperatively and safely while increasing knowledge and skills related to forestry and natural resources.
Students who are actively involved in AOFC can strengthen confidence in their self and their work while participating in worthwhile natural resources based service-learning projects, such as:
• Tree planting and Arbor Day projects;
• Riparian area restoration;
• Fire safety programs at elementary schools; and
• Stream development and trail clearing.
Active members of this student organization acquire career related skills and personal development in citizenship, leadership, and scholastic achievement. Activities include:
• Participation in state logging conferences;
• Student recognition for skills and knowledge; and
• Attendance at AOFC/FFA Fire Training School.
AOFC is supported by numerous public agencies and private forestry/natural resources related industries, which have assisted in the growth and development of the organization. They provide technical assistance and material resources that are used in field experiences for members enrolled in forestry and natural resources programs.
